The IDF carries out airstrikes in Gaza after Hamas releases incendiary balloons into Israel

Tuesday evening, the IDF destroyed multiple Hamas military compounds in Gaza via airstrikes after Hamas sent incendiary balloon devices across the border into Israel that sparked nearly two dozen fires. The balloon attacks were apparently in response to the flag march that took place in Jerusalem on Tuesday.
“The Hamas terror organization is responsible for all events transpiring in the Gaza Strip and will bear consequences for its actions,” the IDF said in a statement. “The IDF is prepared for any scenario, including a resumption of hostilities, in the face of continuing terror activities from the Gaza Strip.”
According to the Times of Israel, no one on either side was injured or killed.
The unrest comes just a few weeks after a ceasefire halted some of the worst violence the region had seen since 2014, and just a couple of days after Benjamin Netanyahu was ousted from power and Naftali Bennet made Prime Minister in his place.
